Border Security Force (BSF) deployed on Indo-Pak border in Kutch district is thanking Chief Minister Narendra Modi profusely. After his visit on New Year's day, life seems to have changed for the better for those manning the border outposts, especially at Koteshwar, Vigokot and Rann of Kutch which Modi visited.

"At least 19 border outposts have got electricity connections. This has happened just within two weeks after the chief minister's visit," official sources told TOI. Many of the border outposts are without power connections. But, state government has begun supplying power to those border outposts where it is technically feasible, they added.

Besides, state government has dispatched deep freezers, solar panels and TV sets with dish antennae for BSF jawans posted in far-flung border outposts, they said.

The chief minister, during his visit, had observed the difficulties of BSF personnel posted at the border areas. He promised them the state government would help improve the living conditions of BSF jawans posted in Gujarat, the sources said.

Over and above, what has impressed the BSF personnel was chief minister taking up their cause and asking for special allowance for them at the conference of chief ministers in New Delhi.
