Ensure power supply to industrial areas

VARANASI: Taking note of power woes especially in the industrial areas of the district, the joint development commissioner and the acting chief development officer (CDO) Sunil Kumar Yadav, instructed the engineers of power department to ensure proper power supply in these areas during a meeting held at District Rifle Club on Thursday.

Presiding over the meeting of Zila Udyog Bandhu, he stressed on the launching of efforts and schemes to benefit entrepreneurs in the district at the right time. He especially took note of deteriorating power conditions in Maheshpur and Chandpur industrial areas and instructed departmental engineers to install additional transformers in these areas on a priority basis.

The acting CDO also presented a cheque of Rs 6,000 each to 12 artisans (winners of national and state level awards) under the UP state pension scheme for artisans. He also instructed police officials to start police patrolling to beef up security measures in industrial areas of the district.

The officers belonging to power department, social welfare department, construction division and Ganga Pollution Control Unit (UP Jal Nigam) were also present on the occasion.
