* Type Classification of thermal protector:
1. Type 2B: Automatic Control, micro-disconnection on operation, and, manufacturing deviation and drift of its operating value, operating time or operating sequence have been declared and tested.
2. Type 3C: for thermal motor protector only
* Crucial tests and relevant methods of thermal protector:
1. Electric strength: Test voltage 1250VAC 50HZ applied between insulation sleeve and live parts, and 500VAC applied between two opened contacts, for 1 minute, no flashover or breakdown.
2. Endurance test: Number of automatic cycles declared as 10,000 cycles, the test shall be carried out under 1.15 VR for 200 cycles, the balance 9800 cycles should be carried out under rated voltage
3. Moisture resistance test:
Humidity Treatment: Relative humidity(%): 91-95%; Temperature: (20-30+/-1) C degree
Keep samples under this environment for 48 hours. No damage so as to impair compliance with this standard.
4. Manufacturing deviation:
The appropriate operating value or operating sequence shall be recorded for each sample. No two samples shall differ from each other by an amount exceeding the declared manufacturing deviation.
Tolerance of trip-off temperature: +/-5K
The temperature of oven may be rapidly increased to 10K below the expected operating temperature. Rate of temperature change reduced to max 0.5K/min or as declared.
