A 110 kV electronic-optical current transformer (EOCT) was described. Compared with the conventional current transformer, the EOCT has high accuracy, low cost, small size, wide bandwidth, excellent dynamic characteristics and immunity from electromagnetic interference. The EOCT was tested and has an accuracy of ±0.2%.
To solve the problems of exorbitance of partial electric field and the non-uniform electric field,this paper simulated electric field distribution of an electric current transformer by using the software package of Ansoft,which was based on the finite element model.The electric field distribution graph,the maximum electric field intensity and its position,the distribution curve of the typical position were obtained by calculating and analyzing the electric field of the electronic current transformer(ECT).By comparing the maximum electric field intensity of different schemes,the optimal insulation design scheme was determined.On the basis of this,six 35 kV electronic current transformers have been developed and tested.The results show that the two scheme's transformer insulation level could satisfy the requirement of the relevant standards.Also,the partial discharge of the chamfered electronic current transformers is much smaller than 20 pC limits requirements.
