Product Description
In electrical distribution,a fuse cutout or cut-out fuse is a combination of a fuse and a switch, used in primary overhead feeder lines and taps to protect distribution transformers from current surges and overloads.An overcurrent caused by a fault in the transformer or customer circuit will cause the fuse to melt,disconnecting the transformer from the line.It can also be opened manually by utility linemen standing on the ground and using a long insulating stick called a hot stick.
Components
A cutout consists of three major components:The cutout body,an open"C"-shaped frame that supports the "fuse holder" and and porcelain insulator that electrically isolates the conductive portions of the assembly from the support to which the insulator is fastened.The fuse holder,often called the "fuse tube" or "door",which contains interchangeable fuse element and also acts as a simple knife switch ,and hang from a hinge assembly. This hinging fuse holder provides a visible inducation that the fuse has operated and assurance that the down-stream circuit is electrically isolated. The fuse element,or "fuse link",is the replaceable portion of the assembly that operates due to high electrical currents.

With the use of portable loadbreak tool,SPI cutouts can function much like an overhead disconnect switch.Alternatively 200 amp Solid Links are available.
Ratings&Specifications
Standard SPI cutouts have maximum design voltage ratings to simplify the choice of cutouts.There are no restrictions to grounded star,ungrounded star or delta systems having maximum operating voltages equal to,or less than the cutout maximum design rating.In each voltage class,these are continuous current ratings of 100A using fuse links and 200A using a solid disconnect link.
1)The fuse should be installed tightly when the melt tension (the fuse body is about 24.5N of the tension), otherwise easily lead to contact heat.
2)Fuse installed in the crossarm should be solid and reliable, can not have any shaking or shaking phenomenon.

6) The melt used must be the standard product of the regular manufacturer, and has a certain mechanical strength, the general requirements of the melt can withstand at least more than 147N of tension.
7) 10kV drop fuse installed in the outdoors, requiring interphase distance greater than 70cm.
